Company

SIGICONTROL is a company specialized in the development and consulting of Lyapunov-based nonlinear control algorithms for Research and Development (R&D), an innovative technology that allows to transcend the limitations of the still prevailing old-fashioned approach.

Motivation

The real systems ‘intrinsic characteristics themselves fueled the motivation for further research into nonlinear control applications: the solution to a linear system is trivial, but the moment a real system diverges excessively from its model, the desired performance cannot be met.

The technology for linear controls requires a long-lasting model validation and tuning without being able to fully eliminate the trade-off between performance and stability. On the other hand nonlinear control systems allow transcending the above mentioned issues, as shown in the “Linear vs. Nonlinear” section, because of their capabilities to exploit the system’s properties through nonlinear methods.
